Visiting an Osteopath

The First Visit - a detailed history will be taken. Questions will be asked about your current problem, your previous medical history and about your general health and lifestyle. A physical examination will be performed.

Diagnosis and Treatment - Treatment for each individual will vary but often includes soft tissue work, gentle rhythmic stretching of joints and muscles and manipulation. Other treatment may involve very delicate movements of the bones of the skull, pelvis and the rest of the skeleton. These are often referred to as Cranial or Craniosacral Osteopathy and is particularly useful in babies and young children as well as for headaches, sinus problems, pregnancy related disorders and traumas to the head.
